I've been coming here for years when I work in the area. I think it's a fantastic place! Two rooms, couch and chair, fully equipped kitchen, comfy bed. Always clean. I prefer upstairs because yes, heating/AC units are loud downstairs. Front desk folks and repairman are always friendly and go the extra mile. I'm amazed at the negativity of some of these reviews! A couple of times over the years there have been noisy neighbors, but that has also happened to me in 4-star hotels.

My family and I stayed at the Woodfin Suites back in June of '05. We had never been to the Bay Area before, so we planned to spend a week seeing all the sights. There were 6 of us (4 adults and 2 small children) so we needed a two bedroom suite for our week there. I couldn’t find anything that fit our needs in the SF area (at least not in our price range), so I looked on the East side of the Bay and found the Woodin. This was perfect for us (especially when you split the cost with another couple). Yes, it was a bit away from downtown SF (about a 30 - 45 minute drive depending on where you were going), but we just packed a lunch and spent all day in the city. (San Jose and Oakland were even closer.) The hotel made a great “base” for us since we were only using it as a place to sleep each night. They did offer a good continental breakfast each morning which we felt was more then reasonable for the price we were paying. We never used the pool, but it looked clean. They also had a business center with internet access in the office which I used from time-to-time to confirm directions through Mapquest.
